Editor-In-Chief Sarah Nicastro talks one-on-one with Roy Dockery of Swisslog Healthcare about how he’s taken control of recruiting field technicians.
Field service leaders in a wide variety of industries, from companies of all sizes, can agree that successful recruitment and hiring is a major challenge. I had a conversation recently with Roy Dockery, VP of Customer Care at Swisslog Healthcare, and I thought his take on this topic was both interesting and refreshing. Dockery doesn’t disagree that hiring can be challenging, but he does think that the field service “talent problem” is a solvable issue that rests squarely on the shoulders of those leading today’s field service organizations.
Here, Dockery shares his opinion on what’s wrong with the traditional field service recruitment and hiring processes, describes the changes he’s implemented at Swisslog Healthcare to improve hiring results, and gives advice on how you can take the initiative to make progress on what many would say is an industry-wide epidemic.
