Sorting Through The Options To Find The Right Mobile Device

There is no shortage of mobile device options today as end users choose between Windows and Android.
When it comes to mobile device selection, the line between rugged, purpose-built devices and consumer mobile devices is blurring. Instead of a stark choice between these two device categories, there is a now a continuum of more- or less-rugged devices to choose from, in multiple form factors.
“The majority of the market has determined that non-line-of-business applications do not require the expense, bulkiness, and unnecessary functionality most ultra-rugged tablets include,” says Matt Miller, president of Mobile Demand. “They want choices, and the adoption of the nonrugged mobile devices demonstrates this. The market has spoken in a natural progression; it needs a wide array of options for mobile devices: phones, tablets, handhelds, and notebooks.”
