Scheduling Software Investment Pays Off In Increased Productivity
By Brian Albright, Field Technologies
Intelligent scheduling and dispatching have improved productivity by 15 percent for Energy Datametrics’ field advisors.
Utilities across the country now offer a number of energy efficiency programs that encourage consumers and businesses to improve their use of energy in exchange for special rewards and rebates. The heart of these programs is the energy audit, which helps gauge energy consumption and identify potential areas of improvement.
Energy Datametrics (EDM) is the leading provider of energy audit software for utilities across the U.S. Long Beach, CA-based EDM also provides software and technology to manage energy efficiency programs. The company supports between 50 and 60 energy advisors (or auditors) that operate in multiple states covering tens of thousands of square miles. About three years ago, EDM began deploying a new mobile field service solution to improve its scheduling and workforce management operations, a project that has since provided a 15 percent efficiency improvement.
