Janam recently introduced the XT85, a Windows-based, rugged handheld that’s meant to meet the evolving needs of today’s mobile workforce. I recently sat down with Doug Lloyd, VP of sales operations at Janam to hear all about the new device and it’s place in the industry.
Why did Janam decide to introduce the XT85? What need do you feel the XT85 addresses in the marketplace?
Janam’s product development strategy is a based on vision, planning and customer demand. It is an approach that has served the company well.
After introducing the Palm OS based XP Series, Janam was flooded with requests from companies seeking similar value in Windows-based devices. Janam readily accommodated that demand with the XM Series rugged PDA and XG Series rugged gun product lines. As the applicability of WWAN solutions grew, customers and partners similarly solicited Janam to design a wide area wireless device with Janam’s signature product philosophy: the right features at the right price. Janam’s WWAN product development was well underway so as demand for the product swelled, Janam introduced the XT Series.
