Publisher/Editor In Chief Sarah Nicastro talks one-on-one with Max Kimlin of Kimlin Propane about the unique challenges a small business faces with technology.
Introducing change can be difficult in any organization — but it can be especially challenging in a family-run business. Max Kimlin is the third-generation owner of Kimlin Propane, a home energy provider based in Gardiner, NY. Max summarizes the position best in saying “Family-run businesses can be both a challenge to run and an honor to uphold.”
Since its inception in 1982, Kimlin Propane has grown to an organization with more than 10,000 commercial and residential customers throughout New York’s Hudson Valley. As Max Kimlin took the reins of the organization, he realized that it was time for Kimlin Propane to leave the analog world behind and step into the digital age. Here he shares his experience in doing so with us.
