Publisher/Editor-In-Chief Sarah Nicastro talks one-on-one with Jon Barr of KONE about how the company is incorporating today’s latest technologies to optimize its mobile workforce.
In today’s technology landscape, there is no shortage of choices that can truly help you to transform how you do business. It’s really quite amazing how far things have come in the past few years and how many options today’s field service organizations have. KONE is a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry. The company has more than 2,000 field service professionals in the U.S. and Canada and is taking a next step in the journey to automate its field service operations. What I find most interesting about KONE’s field automation project is that it incorporates a number of the trends we’re discussing in Field Technologies magazine regularly — and a number of the technologies that today’s leading field service organizations are leveraging. These include remote monitoring, Android and iOS, field automation software, and wearable technology.
