Work order or field service management tools historically were out of reach for the smallest companies. Those companies didn’t have the funds, IT staff, or infrastructure to purchase and maintain a mobile application. But with the advent of low-cost but highly advanced mobile phones and the variety of Web-based applications available today, those dynamics have shifted in a major way.
Ali-Cor Plumbing in Chesapeake, VA, is a good example of just what is possible for a small company using modern mobility technology. Ali-Cor is a plumbing operation that services the Tidewater region of Virginia. The company recently deployed a mobile application that has made it much easier for owner Jason Miller to schedule and dispatch new assignments to his crew.
