This environmental services company has eliminated days of data entry delays by developing custom mobile apps for its clients’ projects.
Hemmera is an environmental consultancy with offices in Vancouver, Victoria, Whitehorse, Calgary, and Toronto. The company provides site assessment and remediation, planning and management, community engagement and social science, and geomatics services, which help government agencies and businesses ensure compliance with Canada’s environmental regulations. Hemmera professionals working in the field collect and report a wide array of data from client sites.
Clients’ data collection needs vary by project. Previously, Hemmera’s field technicians used a mix of paper forms, digital cameras, and commercial handheld devices to perform their jobs. The paper forms had to be collected and manually entered into the company’s databases, and photos were downloaded and manually tagged and filed with the accompanying records.
