Field Service Management – Is Your Organization Evolving Or Staying The Same?
By Jason Kuhn, Executive Director Product Management, CSG
Organizations with field services expect a lot when selecting a Field Service Management (FSM) solution. Automation, everything digital, on time, every time, and fix it the first time are the expected results. The newest generation of customers and employees have been immersed in technology since they were born, and they also expect a lot. Using the latest workforce management tools will provide your company with a competitive advantage, not only with customers, but with attracting and retaining employees.
Technology changes can be hard to manage for most organizations. If your technology provider mandates an upgrade or migration to a new cloud-based platform, it can be an expensive and painful project that can effectively reset your technology stack. In addition to the risks, the main reasons many companies stay with existing technology is lack of budget, resources, and time.
However, the status quo can do more harm than good. Companies using older technology spend more time and money on resources for manual processes and correcting human errors, as well as experience high attrition rates and loss of revenue from unsatisfied customers and employees.
