Executive Outlook: Wi-Fi Evolution Expands RTLS

Improvements in location-aware systems can be seen all around us. GPS devices initially invented for military purposes and then introduced commercially for specific purposes like remote hiking are becoming commonplace in the family wagon and in most of today's smarter phones. These systems are great at telling us where we are, where we are heading, and often quite conveniently the fastest way to get to the nearest gas station or grab a hamburger along the way. Widespread adoption of other location-based consumer applications, such as a tag that finds your misplaced car keys under the couch or a location- based notification that your child has safely arrived at school, are somewhat surprisingly still in process.
