Using Geomanager Liberty Tire Recycling Minimizes Expenses And Maximizes Efficiency
Pennsylvania-based Liberty Tire Recycling recycles more than 140 million tires annually, reclaiming about 1.5 billion pounds of rubber for innovative, ecofriendly products. Tires of every size and shape are collected from more than 60,000 locations nationwide, including new tire retailers, automotive service centers, government institutions, military facilities, car dealerships and tire wholesalers. Liberty Tire has removed nearly 40 million scrap tires from more than 150 dumpsites during the past seven years, exceeding any other organization of its kind in the country.
As the largest network of tire recycling facilities in the United States, and still growing, Liberty Tire needed new technology that would help it control costs and increase efficiency.
“We needed more efficient routing and to control fuel expenditures,” says Wayne Anderson, director of transportation. “We wanted to know where our trucks were at all times and to stay in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.”
