The Connected Fleet Is Coming! Telematics Update Evolves Its Telematics For Fleet Management USA Conference
Telematics Update has re-named its Telematics for Fleet Management USA Conference as Connected Fleets USA 2014 to reflect the current focus of the industry; how to integrate telematics into the logistics supply chain create a robust value proposition for CIO and CSCO to invest in connected fleets.
Telematics Update has just unveiled its Connected Fleets USA Conference & Exhibition (November 20-21, Westin Buckhead, Atlanta) as the definitive meeting place for the connected fleet ecosystem. Formerly known as Telematics for Fleet Management USA, the event has taken on a new name as the conversation in the industry has moved on from simply ‘how to bring tracking, data analytics and platform services to fleets’ to creating a seamless integration between connected fleets, drivers, the enterprise and the multi-modal supply chain to enhance fleet operations.
Ruthana Foulkes, at Telematics Update commented “Connectivity for fleets is evolving! In the face of a capacity crunch, with an increase in traded goods and a shortage of skilled drivers, now is time to explore how to evolve connected fleet telematics to integrate with business as an enterprise.” She continued “…as the complexity and functionality of connected technology is increasing, the procurement decision is now involving also risk IT and finance department in addition to fleet managers. Fleet telematics service provider are harnessing the abundance of data now available from the car to deliver personalized and contextual training and services that anticipate the needs of fleet manger is what will place vehicle as an essential node in the connected supply chain. Connected Fleet USA will focus on this new opportunity.”
This huge opportunity for innovation and investment is not restricted to the telematics service providers it’s also for players from outside the space. This is why Telematics Update has chosen Atlanta, Georgia, for the home of its connected fleet focused event. It’s a central hub where logistics and transport can meet the mobile and wireless industries – and now automotive.
Telematics Update’s MD Precksha Saksena-Sood explains why now is the time for Telematics Update to take a new approach to fleet telematics. “Three major drivers are pushing the telematics market towards the connected fleet. Telematics service providers are diversifying their service portfolio through strategic investment, automaker and equipment makers are building their own platforms and demand for services to be integrated into the enterprise is causing evolution in the connected fleet ecosystem. It’s more crucial than ever for the traditional auto telematics players to connect with the innovators and start to view the vehicle as a crucial node in the connected supply chain. We can’t wait for this new iteration of the event.”
The full agenda and speaker line-up for Connected Fleets USA will be announced in the next two weeks. Speakers from last year include Daimler, Donlen, Ryder, Gateway Cities COG, Liberty Mutual and Volvo. For more information, visit http://www.telematicsupdate.com/fleet/
