Field service software providers are shifting to the cloud deployment model in growing numbers. That’s good news for end users, who can take advantage of an implementation strategy that involves lower up-front costs, more flexibility, faster implementations, and less infrastructure investment. However, different software vendors have taken different approaches to the cloud, and not every cloudbased solution is created equal.
“Field service took a bit longer than some other organizations to adopt cloud technology on a large scale, but right now we’re in the midst of widespread adoption by both large global enterprises and small businesses,” says Dave Yarnold, CEO of ServiceMax.
