Neptune is a VAR specializing in developing automation systems for utilities. Some of its solutions address automatic meter reading, service-order management, and route optimization.

The electric company needed a new field service solution that would make its field operations technicians more efficient and integrate with the company's numerous legacy back end systems. Its technicians were using hardware that had no GPS, bar code scanning, or real-time communications. These deficiencies were costing the company time and money.
