Enterprises have shown immense interest in tablet technology, with Apple's iPad receiving much of the notice. During Apple's recent earnings call with Wall Street analysts,
Apple CEO Steve Jobs noted how surprised his team was by businesses' interest in the iPad, saying, "It's being grabbed out of our hands."
Given the massive amount of iPhones already sold, interest in iPad and other tablet computing devices is hardly surprising. During Apple's last fiscal year, which ended September 30th, the company had sold just under 40 million iPhones. That's not a typo. In only 12 months, Apple had the
opportunity to introduce or extend the iPhone experience through these 40 million purchases. These 40 million purchases represent an audience highly receptive to iPad, which can be viewed as both an extension and an expansion of the widely
popular iPhone user experience.
