When discussing operating system trends, the debate quickly arises on what should drive the decision on which platform to use — the hardware or the software application. It seems to me the hardware aspect is typically more exciting to people, and I get why that’s the case — devices are tangible, trendy, and constantly changing. You can hold them, play with them, and see how “cool” they are — that’s not as easy to do with software.

But I ultimately agree that the software application should drive your platform choice. The device is a crucial tool to deliver the software application to your mobile workforce, but that application is what’s really transforming your business processes and workflows.
