AS a society, we are at an incredible crossroads when it comes to medical care. New diagnostic techniques, such as higher-resolution MRl systems and genetic tests, are provid­ing new insights into a person's medical condition. Many believe that this information will, in the short term, allow physicians and healthcare professionals to improve the quality of the care patients receive. In the long term, the hope is that information from such sources can be combined with new treatment methods to deliver personalized medical care that's tailored specifically to each patient's needs.
