Success Story: Electrolux

Challenge
Electrolux needed centralized management and support of mobile handheld devices across its network of sales and management offices worldwide, while also enabling mobile access to PIM data and e-mail through the company's Lotus Notes groupware application. Previous experiments with a variety of solutions yielded unsatisfactory results.

Solution
Electrolux selected Extended Systems' software to enable mobile users to synchronize e-mail and PIM data with existing back-office groupware. As a device-agnostic solution, Extended Systems mobile groupware solution allows the Electrolux IT department to centrally manage and support any PDA brought into the enterprise and avoid security risks to corporate data.

Measure of Success
The success of the initial pilot program, which used a variety of PDA devices to test compatibility, led Electrolux to do a full-scale launch of the solution across its global office network.
