STEP Energy Using Technology To Improve Safety And Efficiency

Source: Mentor Engineering

STEP Energy Services in Calgary, AB provides coiled tubing and fluid pumping services throughout Western Canada. Incorporated in March 2011, this new business has already taken great strides in the competitive oilfield services market. With 40 units in the field, and expanding quickly, STEP's management team recognizes the importance of tracking the location of all their vehicles and assets, as well as monitoring driver behavior to ensure STEP will become a leader in both safety and efficiency.

When STEP Energy Services launched their business, implementing a mobile workforce management system was at the top of their priority list. After an unsatisfactory experience with a previous vendor, STEP looked for a web-based, easy-to-use solution that would provide information to help keep their operators safe and increase fleet efficiency while lowering fuel costs.

Since implementing the Mentor Fleet solution, STEP Energy Services has seen a dramatic improvement in operator safety. Steve Glanville, Chief Operating Officer at STEP says, "Just by having the drivers know that a monitoring system is in place has helped improve their driving habits. They see the system, and the reports we generate, as a helpful reminder to aide them in driving safer."
