Socket Introduces New WLAN SDIO Cards

Socket delivers high throughput, low-power consumption and small form factor 802.11 a/b/g SDIO cards for industrial embedded and plug-in applications

Socket Mobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), an innovative provider of mobile productivity products, today announced the development and delivery of new versions of its WLAN SDIO Cards—the Socket Go Wi-Fi!® P320 and P320X. The 802.11a/b/g SDIO cards are designed for use by corporate and industrial OEM customers worldwide in their embedded and plug-in applications.

The Socket Go Wi-Fi! P320 card has a built-in, optimized dual-band (2.4 and 5 GHz) antenna for plug-in applications, and the Socket Go Wi-Fi! "The new Socket Go Wi-Fi! P320 and P320X products add the 802.11a support opening cleaner, more usable channels in the noisy radio environment of the industrial marketplace," said Chang Xu, sr. product manager of Socket Mobile. "The new products also offer the benefits of an industrial operating temperature range, antenna diversity, improved range capability, receiver sensitivity, data throughput and power management all in the same size and form factor as their predecessors—the Socket Go Wi-Fi! P300 and P300X."
