Smart Grid Relies On Field Service Automation

When you mention the term "smart grid," most people immediately start thinking of smart meters, but there is a lot more to the eventual adoption of this technology in the utility space. That's one reason why GTM Research is redicting that building supporting information and operations systems, in parallel with deployment of smart meters, distribution automation devices, and other grid technologies, will drive some $8.2B in utility enterprise spending between now and 2015.
