BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Provides Native Support for Sirit's INfinity 510 RFID Reader

TORONTO, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - Sirit Inc. ("Sirit") (TSX: SI), a leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) solutions, announced today that a device provider for their INfinity 510 RFID readers will be available for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2. This facilitates fast and simple integration of Sirit readers into RFID implementations using BizTalk Server 2006 R2.

Sirit, a Microsoft Certified Partner, ensures the device provider supports integration between the INfinity 510 and BizTalk Server 2006 R2. This device provider within BizTalk Server is similar to a software driver in Microsoft's operating systems, as is the case with printers, scanners and other peripherals.

"With the launch of BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Microsoft Corp. provides an important catalyst for the mass adoption of RFID, further enabling a 'connected enterprise.' We are excited about the release of BizTalk Server 2006 R2 and are pleased to be one of the first RFID reader companies to provide this compatibility," said Tony Sabetti, vice president of RF Solutions for Sirit. "As part of our strategic relationship with Microsoft, we worked closely with the BizTalk Server team to make certain our readers were compatible."

"In order for customers to take advantage of RFID technology today, it's critical that they have access to devices that are compatible with infrastructure technologies such as BizTalk Server 2006 R2," said Steven Martin, director of the Connected Systems Division at Microsoft. "We are pleased to have the INfinity 510 as a supported device within BizTalk Server 2006 R2."

The INfinity 510 has received accolades for its outstanding performance such as the top-rated RFID reader in the recent ODIN technologies European Reader Benchmark Test report. Sirit's INfinity 510 was the top performer among seven readers tested, placing first or second in six of the seven test categories. In addition, METRO Group, the largest retailer in Germany, performed extensive reader testing and selected the INfinity 510 as their primary reader for its RFID implementation at REAL hypermarket stores across Germany.

"The INfinity 510 offers a broad portfolio of configuration and enterprise management tools that changes the paradigm of RFID system installation and management," stated Sabetti. "A wide array of diagnostic and statistical reporting tools, user-configurable alarms, and a host of management features are available. When you combine the built-in flexibility of the INfinity 510 with the integration BizTalk Server provides, a powerful, easy-to-integrate solution emerges."

In addition to the work on BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Sirit is taking advantage of Microsoft development tools across a wide range of RFID and contactless payment applications. As a Microsoft Certified Partner, Sirit has developed a unique electronic toll and traffic management for California State Route 91, the first open road tolling system that uses Microsoft Windows as the core operating system for all lane activities. Sirit is also participating in Microsoft's current initiatives in Near Field Communications (NFC) which enables innovative new applications of wireless peripherals and other mass market electronic devices.
