The Challlenge
In the past, the drivers were given anywhere between 15 and 20 invoices and skids with the product for those invoices. The driver routed themselves as well as loaded their own trucks. Orders were generated and assigned to a basic route using a UNIX-based software program; however there was no particular delivery order. This method required an ordering deadline of 2 pm for next-day deliveries to allow enough time to route and pack the order on the trucks.

Several years ago, Corporate Coffee recognized that their business was becoming more complex and required a better approach to routing and scheduling sales appointments as well as deliveries, billing and compensation.
