Tech Update: Passive RFID Expands Its Reach

End users currently searching for an RFID solution for enterprise tracking applications have a wide variety of options available to them, including active or passive RFID, wireless LAN-based RTLS (real-time location systems), and ultra-wideband. Passive RFID has been the technology of choice for highvolume applications like inventory management and document tracking for several years because of its relatively low cost. However, new technology advancements are making passive RFID a more attractive option for a wider variety of solutions, including some that may have been addressed by active RFID or RTLS solutions in the past.
