Solution Series: Taking Away Paperwork Improves The Service Call

Before it launched its automated system on BlackBerry smartphones, AIS Construction Equipment (AIS), a heavy construction equipment dealership, completed work orders, time sheets, mileage reports, and past orders on paper. Managing daily work orders was slowing the company down and not meeting its expectations for performance or service delivery. AIS worked with its partner, Visible Asset, to modify a third-party out-ofthe- box Etrace application from Gearworks. Now, technicians receive work orders on their BlackBerry smartphones, with all the repair information included. They track their time, mileage, and completed repairs on their smartphones, instead of on paper.
