Tech Update: Navigating The Wireless Landscape

When deploying enterprise-class wireless solutions, end users have a wide range of options when it comes to solutions providers. There are thousands of systems integrators, independent software vendors, mobile device manufacturers, and resellers who deal in wireless solutions that work with one or more of the major wireless carriers networks. The carriers themselves have also established professional services units that can provide complete wireless solutions for their customers. At the same time, companies have increased their use of wireless data and mobile computing. A report from telecom research firm AOTMP found that the number of mobile applications running in enterprises increased by 50% from 2008 to 2009.
