Tech Update: SaaS Solutions Simplify Field Service

Field service automation solutions have traditionally been designed to support a widely dispersed user base. Field technicians and dispatchers often remotely access these applications from a variety of computing devices, so it seems like hosted, or SaaS, solutions would be a natural fit for this market. In fact, many field service software providers are transitioning to the SaaS model, and a host of new vendors have sprung up that offer exclusively Web-based solutions for both traditional field service markets, as well as the IT service management space.
