Mobile field service application suite now available on all three major industry platforms

December 21, 2006 – ServicePower’s Field Service Solutions (FSS) Division, a provider of Web-based, automated job scheduling, GPS tracking and navigation, and warranty chain management services for the service delivery and installation industries, today announced that through coordination with its partner, KonaWare, the SERVICEMobility application from ServicePower FSS has been certified on the Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless (BREW) solution from QUALCOMM.

This certification means that the SERVICEMobility application, which has already been certified for J2ME phones on the Sprint Nextel network, will now work on BREW enabled phones within the Verizon Wireless network. SERVICEMobility runs on the KonaWare Mobility Platform, a versatile software development and deployment system for wireless applications that supports Windows Mobile, Java2 Micro Edition, and BREW with a consistent software architecture.

The SERVICEMobility application improves the efficiency and productivity of mobile field service personnel by providing instant dispatch of scheduled jobs to a variety of mobile devices. Real-time status updates help to close the feedback loop from the field personnel to the dispatch office. SERVICEMobility also provides location based GPS tracking, vehicle management reports, and turn-by-turn driving directions.

“We believe that BREW enabled devices will provide field service professionals with a timely, flexible, and cost effective solution that will help them stay competitive in the market,” said Ian MacKinnon, president of ServicePower Inc. “Now that we have the certification, we can effectively extend the reach of the SERVICEMobility functionality and make it more readily available to a larger network of consumers.”

“The SERVICEMobility suite of mobile field service applications is now available on all three major platforms: J2ME, BREW and Windows Mobile,” commented Jim DiSanto, CEO of KonaWare. “Supporting all three mobile standards gives SERVICEMobility far greater reach than any other mobile field service application.”
