Salient Federal Solutions Creates Mobility Center Of Excellence

Company Elevates 14 Years of Mobility Experience to Share Mobility Capabilities Across Government Markets With Next-Generation Secure Mobile Solutions

Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient), a leading provider of information technology, engineering, and intelligence analytic services to agencies in the intelligence, defense, homeland security, cyber security, and federal civilian markets, recently announced the launch of the new Salient Mobility Center of Excellence (MCoE), a center focused on implementing mobility solutions across Salient’s expanding customer base.

“With over 14 years of experience and thousands of mobile application users, we have established strong and long-standing mobile capabilities, and recognize that these have wider applications across the organization and the markets we serve,” says Dr. Bob Friedenberg, Chief Technology Officer of Salient. “The increasingly mobile and distributed nature of the workforce, regardless of industry, lends itself to these capabilities. We look forward to helping our customers tap into market-leading mobile solutions that will provide greater efficiencies which ultimately benefit their customers and businesses.”

As enterprise-wide adoption of mobile technologies emerges, the Salient MCoE brings together mobile industry thought leaders and experts to aggregate resources to be utilized across the company, and all of Salient’s Federal and Commercial customers. Salient’s MCoE offers strategic and tactical thought leadership with regards to the use of mobility solutions, build proof-of concept prototypes, and deployment operational solutions to help customers with the unique challenges that are present in today’s complex mobile environment.

Salient’s mobile offering allows customers to connect to enterprise data resources and securely make this high-value information available to mobile users. This capability is illustrated by Salient’s successful Voyager/Query application widely used within the law enforcement markets and Voyager/Command Tracker that has been deployed within military bases to provide GPS services to its users. The Voyager platform puts Salient at the forefront of BYOD (‘Bring Your Own Device’) initiatives in the federal space both in terms of its capabilities to ensure protection of information rendered on mobile devices.

“The MCoE will be building a community to help us imagine mobile solutions that our customers might benefit from, vet the ideas, build proof-of-concept prototypes and deploy in an effective manner,” said Martin Gillespie, Director of the Salient Commercial MCoE.  “We can quickly engage our customers with mobile solutions in a responsive way, and improve the focus and value we deliver.”

The company has appointed Martin Gillespie as the Director of the MCoE with the responsibility of leading and promoting Salient’s mobile products and services. Gillespie most recently led business development for the Department of Homeland Security and Justice within Salient Federal Solutions.
