Saleem Miyan Appointed CEO At Wavetrend
SURREY, U.K. — September 18, 2007 — Wavetrend, a world leader in the deployment of active RFID solutions, today announced the appointment of Saleem Miyan as the company's new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Miyan, formerly Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing & Professional Services at Wavetrend, officially began his new appointment on Sept. 10, 2007. Sales Directors in each of Wavetrend's global operating offices will continue to report directly to him.

In his previous position with Wavetrend, Mr. Miyan helped the company establish a global brand identity, as well as a world-class sales and marketing team. He increased Wavetrend's global strategic partnerships, expanded the company's product portfolio, and built the foundation for a go-to-market strategy with both direct sales and partner-led solutions, which has already strengthened the value of Wavetrend to its customers.

Mr. Miyan has worked in the Automatic Identification industry for the past 14 years. Prior to joining Wavetrend, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Checkpoint Systems, Inc., overseeing their global RFID and emerging technologies business.
Previously, Mr. Miyan spent six years with Philips Semiconductors, where he served in several key positions within the Identification business (Smartcards, RFID, and Near Field Communication). Under his leadership, Philips's RFID business became a highly profitable, mainstream market initiative for the company.
He has also worked as a managing consultant for Ernst & Young in both London and Chicago, overseeing a team of 30 systems and software experts. He began his career as a business systems analyst with British Airways in the UK, eventually rising to a corporate systems project management position. Mr. Miyan has a Masters degree in project management and psychology and a Bachelors degree in software engineering. He is a recognized speaker and chairperson and has represented his companies at many worldwide conferences and briefings. In addition, he has authored multiple articles and papers on RFID deployment, technology development, and emerging new technologies.
