Rugged Notebooks Replace Paper

Dyson has more than 170 field engineers across the United Kingdom. With business increasing, Dyson recognized it needed to improve efficiency if it was to keep its promises to its customers. "We were getting concerned that our system had a number of reliability issues," explained Bryan Thompson, Dyson project manager.

Dyson was looking for a paperless solution that would eliminate the two hours spent each day by its engineers manually filling in forms and reentering data into the computer. Dyson also wanted to save the 4 hours its call center staff spent daily calling engineers with job changes and cancellations. "What we wanted was a fully managed service where the supplier would manage the entire solution — hardware, software, customization, support, hosting — the lot," said Thompson.
