RFID Accuracy Patent Awarded To ODIN technologies
Patent for optimally placing RFID antennas, tags and interrogators
December 14, 2006 – ODIN technologies, the leader in the physics of RFID for solution design, deployment, and optimization software, announces the award of a broad patent relating to the use of software and equipment to improve RFID performance accuracy and visibility. Patent number 7,132,948 was granted on November 7, 2006 and covers a system and method for optimally placing RFID tag and reader antennas. The intellectual property behind the patents is one design component that forms the foundation of ODIN’s EasyReader™ software.
ODIN technologies’ patent portfolio is centered on intellectual property, innovative software, algorithms, and methodologies which automate the RFID system life-cycle from installation and design to trouble-shooting and maintenance. ODIN technologies’ pioneering physicists and RF engineers began developing solutions to challenging RFID performance problems many years ago and have worked with scores of clients to prove out those strategies. Based on RF physics, ODIN’s portfolio of solutions and methodologies provide rapid insight into why certain approaches will be successful and why other approaches fail. This saves end users time and cost, helps avoid predictable pitfalls and improves system performance. The results of ODIN’s early innovative efforts are bearing fruit in the form of patents and products which clearly provide a sustainable competitive advantage for the company and their clients.
“One of ODIN technologies four guiding principles is to ‘Constantly Innovate’ - innovation that improves the accuracy and ease of RFID deployments. This optimization patent is an example of the many technical assets that ODIN employs to improve RFID performance on behalf of some of the world’s largest RFID users. RFID performance is based on several variables that require deep physics and engineering expertise to achieve. ODIN is creating intellectual property, tools and software such as that described in the patent award, that enable technicians to deploy with the same level of accuracy as experts. We continually strive to make RFID easy to use. The patent reinforces our industry leadership in making RFID accuracy more accessible to end users and integrators alike,” commented Patrick J. Sweeney II, President and CEO of ODIN technologies.
