Timing each participant in a footrace of several hundred runners using pencils and paper is not too hard. A race with several thousand is much more difficult. And a race with tens of thousands is, well, sometimes impossible. Racing to the finish line to help is RFID. Using RFID technology, ChronoTrack can now time up to 60,000 runners accurately and efficiently. Coca-Cola is testing a beverage dispenser that allows customers to choose from up to 100 drink flavors from a single screen, while RFID technology helps manage the operation, including providing Coca-Cola with real-time inventory information.
