Qv21 Launches ELD Compliance Solution

ELD Hardware Integrated with Dispatch & Logistics Platform

Qv21 Technologies, Inc., a leader in transportation logistics software, announces the certification of an internally developed Electronic Logging Device (ELD) designed to log hours of service for commercial motor vehicle drivers that is integrated into its The LogisticsFramework (TLF) platform. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Electronic Logging Device Rule that goes into effect in December 2017, requires that all commercial motor vehicles have a logging device onboard that collects and reports hours of service, and records duty status.

“The Qv21 ELD connects to the driver’s cellphone or tablet so that field data input by drivers as well as elogged data collected by the ELD transmits to the TLF platform,” said Jonathan Currie, Qv21 CEO. “This gives carriers compliance data plus e-tickets, logs and dispatch tools in one platform. The TLF Compliance Module adds to TLF existing features, such as exception-based dispatching and customizable electronic job tickets that enable companies to gain efficiencies in transportation services.”

“Qv21 has been offering an HOS module in our TLF product for electronic logs since 2012, and we launched EOBR and DVIR modules in 2013,” said Huw Thomas, Qv21 founder. “Building our own FMCSA-certified ELD provides the foundation for adding advanced telematics features in the future for first-class fleet management.”

The Qv21 ELD solution is delivered as a SaaS model. There is a monthly charge with $0 down, which means no CapEx hardware investment or additional phone and data plan charges for the ELD.

“Now, dispatchers and managers as well as drivers have up-to-date awareness of the drivers’ location when a job changes and additional stops are added,” said Currie. “Our goal is to have the TLF platform be as agile as the real-world work of our customers.”
