PanGo And Versus Partner To Track Resources
August 14, 2006 -- PanGo Networks, Inc. and Versus Technology, Inc. today announced a partnership to deliver the healthcare industry’s most advanced location-enabled clinical automation and asset tracking solutions. The companies’ combined offerings – that leverage proven locationing technologies like Wi-Fi, active and passive radio frequency identification (RFID) and infrared (IR) – will give hospitals new ability to make use of the precise location of personnel, patients and equipment for business process improvements.
PanGo and Versus make it easy for hospitals to add a valuable layer of business logic and intelligence to optimize workflow, improve patient care, and maximize investments in IT infrastructure and lifesaving biomedical equipment.
By linking Versus’ dual IR/RFID-based sensory tracking system with PanGo’s PanOS location management platform and PanGo Locator application, hospital staff can track both patients and equipment with a high degree of precision from a single interface. In turn, users of the Versus Information System (VIS) and Patient VISion Platform will be able to make the most of their Wi-Fi infrastructure for asset tracking, through integration with the PanOS Platform.
“The combined strengths of the Versus and PanGo asset tracking solutions will give hospitals unmatched flexibility in deploying best-of-class, context-aware clinical automation systems,” said Henry Tenarvitz, president of Michigan-based Versus. Versus is the most widely deployed locating system in healthcare, with tag shipments totaling over 250,000. “By delivering solutions that tap Wi-Fi infrastructure for locationing, we’re expanding our ability to help hospitals manage patient flow and medical assets, streamlining their processes and reducing costs.”
PanGo’s PanOS Platform will assimilate location information from Versus’ active IR/RFID tags, readers and sensors for precise room-level accuracy. In addition, Versus’ patient flow management software will be able to incorporate data from a range of location tracking technologies such as IR, Wi-Fi and passive RFID. As a result, hospitals gain maximum flexibility to expand or establish real-time location solutions (RTLS) to match every need.
“PanGo is committed to integrating our solutions with best-of-breed technologies so that customers can immediately realize the benefits of robust asset tracking solutions – applying the optimal technology to varying use cases,” said Mike McGuinness, president and CEO of Massachusetts-based PanGo. "We’re pleased to be working closely with Versus to help healthcare organizations deliver world-class patient care, while making the most of staff and asset resources.”
PanGo and Versus will be highlighting their joint solution August 14-15 at the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) 44th Annual Conference & Exhibition at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center located in Orlando, Florida.
