MobileTrax Announces The 2012 Mobility Awards Winners
MobileTrax, LLC, a leading mobile and wireless industry analyst firm, announced recently the winners of the 2012 Mobility Awards at a banquet held at the New Orleans Marriott at the Convention Center during the CTIA Wireless 2012 trade show in New Orleans. The 2012 Mobility Awards were selected by 37 industry-leading press and analysts who cover the mobile and wireless market. Thus, the Mobility Awards recognize the best mobile computing and wireless data communications products and services introduced to the market during the past year.
Apple products and services won in eight categories. Amazon’s Kindle Fire won in three categories including Rookie of the Year and Product of the Year. Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility took the top position in the M&A Transaction category.
“There’s a need to recognize the hard work that the mobile device makers, software vendors and wireless operators are doing to provide their customers with unique products and services,” said J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D., Principal Analyst with MobileTrax LLC. “The Mobility Awards have honored the brightest innovators in mobile computing and wireless data communications products and services for the past 16 years. This year there was stiff competition for the 450 products and services which were nominated in the 63 categories. And, even though they may not have won, it was interesting to see how well some of the newcomers did against their well-known, industry-giant competitors.”
