Mobile Field Work Validation: Validating Field Work Saves $112,00 Per Year

To keep track of the work MMMM's cleaning specialists complete and to make sure that the work is up to the customers' standards, MMMM requires its project managers to complete three quality inspections each week. When MMMM set out to upgrade its field management processes because of issues with field inspections, it was guided by lessons learned during an initial solution deployment. MMMM had originally implemented a software-based solution to replace its paper-based process of manually fi lling out inspection forms. While the solution automated the forms, it didn't provide the validation capabilities MMMM needed to make sure the inspections were being done at the right time. In addition, the solution didn't provide real-time data transfer, which meant that the company still had an issue of lag time between completed inspections to identify defi ciencies and when the data was entered into the back-end system, resulting in customer service delays and complaints.

MMMM's employees were frustrated that in addition to the mobile devices and pagers they carried with them on a daily basis, the solution forced them to carry an additional piece of hardware. With more than 3,000 fi eld employees, MMMM needed to fi nd a streamlined solution that would provide real-time visibility into the work its employees complete on a daily basis, and a way to validate that the work is being done when and where it needs to be.
