Mobile Device Management Evolves In The Enterprise

MDM has grown into a tool for improving every aspect of enterprise mobile deployments.

The increased use of mobile technology in the enterprise has highlighted the need for advanced mobile device management (MDM) software. In the process, end users have asked for a wider variety of functionality from their MDM providers, to the point that “mobile device management” has become something of a misnomer; these solutions now do far more than simply manage fleets of handheld computers and smartphones.

“The trend is moving from the basic MDM (manage and secure my devices) to how to make use of mobility within the enterprise,” says Gururaj Rao, managing partner at nuVizz. “The growth in MDM technology is making companies more and more amenable to thinking about newer use cases for mobile adoption within enterprise.”
