MiX Telematics North America Grows Products, Services Across Southern Gulf Coast Region
MiX Telematics, a global provider of vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions, recently announced implementation of an additional 8,900 MiX Telematics In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) units across the nation for one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world. As oil and gas fleets expand to new locations across North America, MiX Telematics continues to grow, providing clients with driver behavior modification solutions, compliant electronic Hours of Service and GPS tracking.
“The IVMS installations currently underway across the U.S. represent a strategic direction for our North American operations,” said Ken Creager, CEO of MiX Telematics North America. “This project, and others throughout the country, is not only being driven by our ability to accurately capture and analyze driver data, but translate that data into meaningful reports. With the support of our Driver Behavior Modification solution and driver safety experts, this data is used to create actionable driver safety programs that can positively affect a company’s bottom line.”
During each trip, the MiX Telematics FM Communicator collects driver behavior data and sends the information to an online FM-Web application. From this web-based application, fleet managers can review reports, trends and driving behavior in real-time. Using the driver data collected from the MiX Telematics IVMS, a client can rank driver behavior in a red, amber or green category. These rankings allow managers to accurately determine the type and level of training each driver should have in order to better meet state and federal safety and efficiency standards.
“Our products are ideal or oil and gas companies when it comes to collecting critical driver data such as speeding, harsh acceleration, hard braking and excessive idling,” added Brian McCoy, vice president of business development for MiX Telematics North America. “Each of our solutions was developed with safety and efficiency in mind. We want fleet managers to effectively correct any fleet challenges and problems before they cause harm to themselves or other motorists. Safety is our number one priority.”
