Intermec Launches Printer Trade-In Program
End users can earn rebates of up to $525 per printer on Intermec and competitors' printer trade-ins through December 1st
EVERETT, Wash., June 5, 2007 — Intermec, Inc. (NYSE: IN) has launched a printer trade-in program where end users can earn rebates of up-to-$525 per printer (Intermec and/or competitor) when they buy a new, qualified Intermec printer. The trade-in program runs through December 1, 2007.
End users earn a $200 rebate for each Intermec printer traded-in when they also purchase a qualifying printer, or $100 if they purchase an Intermec PD41.
The rebates double when trading in a competitive printer. End users earn a $400 for each competitive printer traded-in when they also purchase a qualifying printer, or $200 if they purchase an Intermec PD41.
Customers can earn an additional $125 rebate when they include a three-year Medallion Service agreement with the qualifying purchase.
The printer rebate program makes it more economical for customers to trade up to the latest generation of Intermec "smart" printers with built-in intelligence that enables them to perform a wide variety of operations that normal printers cannot. The printers offer features like faster printer speeds, wireless connectivity, RFID (radio frequency identification) label encoding, automatic bar code adjustment, error proofing, XML printing and centralized device management via Intermec's SmartSystems™ Foundation.
"Recent research indicates that a significant number of end users using legacy printing solutions are now faced with a host of technical and operational issues related to printer (and consumable) efficiencies, technological innovations, and connectivity," said Drew Nathanson, AIDC practice director for Venture Development Corporation. "Similar to the PC industry, end users must continually upgrade their core technologies in order to maximize benefits and remain compatible with innovations of related products. Intermec's printer trade-in program should provide additional incentive for those printer end users in need of technology refresh."
The rebate program is valid for qualifying purchases of Intermec equipment purchased by end users in the U.S. Rebates will be determined by the number of eligible units traded-in and the corresponding number of eligible new units purchased (a 1:1 ratio).
