Intermec IP30 RFID Reader Named "Best in Show"

March 31, 2008 — The Intermec (NYSE:IN) IP30 has been selected as a finalist for the coveted RFID Journal "Best in Show" award by RFID Journal, the world's leading media and events company covering radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. The award will be presented at RFID Journal Live! 2008, held April 16 -18, 2008 in Las Vegas, and recognizes the RFID technology provider exhibiting the best new RFID product of the year.

The Intermec IP30 add-on RFID reader is a cost-effective, compact, FCC and ETSI certified solution for adding mobile RFID read/write capability to the latest generation of Intermec mobile computers including the CN3 and the CK61. The

IP30 is now shipping in both FCC and ETSI configurations. Intermec RFID Marketing Group Manager, Chris Johnston, will present the IP30 for evaluation by show attendees and judges on Thursday, April 17 at 11:55 AM  and Friday, April 18 at 2:05 PM on the Exhibit Hall Stage. Attendees can also witness the IP30?s powerful RFID capabilities during the show on several additional occasions:

Ongoing IP30 demonstrations will be held at the Intermec booth, #230, during the RFID Journal Live! 2008 show.

Intermec Vice President and General Manager of RFID, Ray Cronin, will showcase the IP30 during his general session keynote address entitled, "Demystifying the RFID vs. Bar Code Debate," April 17 at 5:05 PM.

Intermec will host a reception at the Venetian, Veronese Ballroom, #2404, on Thursday, April 17 from 5:30 ? 7:30 PM. All show attendees are invited to attend for an opportunity to network with RFID industry experts and hands-on time with the IP30.

The five judges for the awards this year are Harold Boeck, a professor at the Universite de Sherbrooke; Bill Hardgrave, director of the University of Arkansas' RFID Research Center; Vice Admiral Gordon S. Holder of the U.S. Navy (Retired) and a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton; Fred Riggins, an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management; and Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal.

The IP30 is now shipping in both FCC and ETSI configurations.
