Integrated Solutions Is Now Field Technologies
Integrated Solutions magazine, an industry-leading business-to-business trade magazine published by Jameson Publishing and in print for more than 12 years, is making a notable change for 2011.
The magazine is changing its name from Integrated Solutions to Field Technologies. This change is effective January 1, 2011 and will be reflected in print beginning with the January 2011 issue.
Jameson Publishing notes there will be no change in the magazine's ownership, management, or editorial philosophy. "We aren't changing personnel or our commitment to being the industry-leading resource for companies seeking information on enterprise mobile technologies," says Jim Roddy, president of Jameson Publishing.
Why the name change?
For the past year, Integrated Solutions has partnered with Field Technologies Online — an online community providing the latest industry news, case studies, and whitepapers on information technologies that allow enterprises to better manage their mobile workers, service, and assets. These enterprise technologies include mobile computing hardware, field service automation software, asset tracking, fleet management, and M2M (machine-to-machine). Similarly, over the past year, the editorial in the magazine has been entirely focused on these outside-the-four-walls technologies and applications. "We believe changing the name of the magazine to Field Technologies more accurately reflects the magazine's editorial focus and will create a more intuitive user experience between the magazine, website, and e-newsletter," says Sarah Howland, editor in chief of Field Technologies.
What won't change?
The magazine name change is the sole modification to the publication. Field Technologies will continue to provide the same original editorial the readers of Integrated Solutions are accustomed to — including monthly opinion columns, benefits-oriented feature articles and case studies highlighting real-world success stories, technology resource articles containing expert opinions on the latest trends and advice for implementation, and thought leadership from industry-leading vendors and analyst groups. The magazine also will continue to produce annual supplements that provide focused, educational information on specific topic areas.
What's the benefit?
"With Field Technologies, users have the flexibility to access the latest information and resources on outside-the-four-walls technologies in the way they prefer — within one consistent brand," says Howland. Field Technologies magazine will take the place of Integrated Solutions as the resource for original editorial providing thought leadership and real-life examples of how enterprises are improving their businesses with mobile technologies. Field Technologies magazine content, including the current issue and archived issues, is housed on Field Technologies Online. Field Technologies Online provides up-to-the-minute industry news and offers access to a vast network of targeted educational information including case studies, whitepapers, product data sheets, videos, podcasts, and Webinars. Finally, the Field Technologies Online weekly e-newsletter delivers the latest from Field Technologies and Field Technologies Online directly to a user's inbox.
