In Motion Technology Now Sends Life Saving Patient Data From Philips HeartStart Monitor/Defibrillators With Bluetooth-Enabled Solution
In Motion Technology, a leader in vehicle area networks for public safety organizations, recently announced that its onBoard Mobile Gateway is now Bluetooth compatible with the Philips HeartStart MRx monitor/defibrillator, allowing paramedics in the field to wirelessly send patient data to hospitals and caregivers without the use of cell phones, modems or expensive wireless adaptors.

Previously, ECG information was often transmitted using modems or cell phones that are less reliable, operate on a single network and are prone to loss and theft. In Motion Technology's onBoard Mobile Gateway supports multiple devices and applications simultaneously over any wireless network, automatically finding the most effective one available – whether cellular, 3G, 4.9GHz or 700 MHz – in order to send medical data from a moving emergency vehicle.
The Philips HeartStart MRx is one of the medical industry's leading defibrillators/monitors. The device features the longest battery-powered operating time, the largest color display and fastest time to shock of any monitor/defibrillator.

In Motion's onBoard Mobile Gateway handles not only ECG information but also data from a full range of first responder devices, including laptops running electronic patient care reporting, computer aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location, surveillance cameras, RFID devices and emergency vehicle diagnostic tools.
