Driver support is critical if you want your fleet management investment to pay off — here’s how to gain that support.
In every GPS-based fleet management solution deployment, there are three types of challenges to overcome. The first is the technical aspect of selecting and installing the hardware and deploying the associated software solution. The second is operational: leveraging the GPS data to improve business processes.
The third challenge is cultural, and it involves gaining the trust and support of the drivers. While management can certainly move forward on a GPS project without driver support, their involvement can be critical when companies hope to leverage the technology to reduce fuel consumption and improve efficiency or in industries where the market for good drivers is tight.
