For years, the service industry has worked to reduce truck rolls, and it’s easy to see why. Successfully resolving an issue on the first visit leads to higher customer satisfaction as well as time and cost savings for the service organization. As a result, service teams are working very hard to reduce the second, third, and fourth calls whenever possible. But while all this good work is going on, very little attention is being paid to the most expensive call: the first one. What if it were possible to achieve the impossible — eliminate the first truck roll?
