Brookline is an old and affluent Massachusetts town dating to 1705, with a population of 60,000. Its residents have included or include such celebrities as Boston Red Sox owner John Henry, Barbara Walters, basketball star Larry Bird, former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former Governor Michael Dukakis, Boston Patriots owner Robert Kraft, the late 60 Minutes host Mike Wallace, Nobel prize-winning novelist Saul Bellows, and President John F Kennedy, who was born here 95 years ago.
