Handheld Launches High Precision GPS Kenaz
Handheld introduced today the new Kenaz GPS receiver designed specifically for the TDS Nomad and Recon handheld computers. The new Kenaz GPS receiver offers sub-meter accuracy for high precision mapping applications. It attaches directly to the top of the handheld to preserve the Nomad's and Recon's MIL-STD-810F and IP67 ratings.
Kenaz features 12-channel parallel tracking (10-channel when tracking SBAS) and is able to maintain accuracy even during temporary loss of differential signal. The full integration, robust design, low power consumption and rapid position computation all increase the functionality of the Nomad and Recon handheld computers.
"The Kenaz combined with the TDS Nomad or Recon will provide a very powerful tool for mobile workers who need the highest degree of GPS accurac y" says Dale Kyle, president of Handheld U.S.
The Kenaz GPS receiver is available for first customer ship November 2008.
