GPS Tracking: Wherify Wireless Announces Significant Order For Wherifone GPS Locator Phones And GPS Tracking Services

Wherify Wireless, Inc. a leading developer of patented wireless location solutions and services for family safety, asset tracking and security technology solutions recently announced it has signed a definitive purchase order for approximately 8,200 Wherifone devices with Mercodata Industria of Brazil, which will be acting as a distributor for several other firms that will be using the Wherifone devices to support the tracking of package delivery personnel in several Brazilian cities.

Wherify, which has already shipped these units out of its existing inventory, expects the vast majority of these devices to be activated and to begin producing recurring monthly revenues for the company by the end of the fourth quarter of 2007.

Vince Sheeran, CEO of Wherify Wireless, commented, "Since coming on board as CEO of Wherify approximately four months ago, many positive changes have been made at the company. We have been effective in raising additional capital, streamlined our operations and revamped our market and distribution channels. We are excited to let our stakeholders know these efforts are starting to pay off in reduced operational costs and considerable new interest in our products. We believe the order we are announcing today, which includes not only Wherifone units, but also ongoing GPS tracking services and back office support, represents the type of progress the Wherify team expects to continue to report over the coming quarters."

The Wherifone is an innovative GSM-based GPS locator phone that determines the location of loved ones or employees via built-in GPS technology. With a simple click of a mouse button the location of a Wherifone user can be found in about one minute via an easy-to-use Internet application with the location displayed on a street map or street-level accurate aerial map. The location of a Wherifone user can also be determined through the use of almost any cell phone by simply texting Wherify's Internet-based location application. The Wherifone also makes use of a dedicated "SOS" button that allows the user to instantly request an emergency response or to be connected to emergency services via the pushing of a single button.
