Models V100, M230, P470 and W130 Offer Portability and Flexibility in a Rugged Package That Meets Military Standards

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (November 5, 2007) — GETAC Inc., a pioneering manufacturer of Rugged computers that meet the demands of field-based applications, will showcase four models of versatile Fully Rugged notebook and tablet PCs during the 2007 FireRescue Conference & Exposition, which runs November 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (Booth #746).

Rugged GETAC models on display will include the new GETAC V100, a MIL-STD 810F and IP54 compliant notebook that features an LCD screen that instantly transforms into a tablet PC. The highly portable 4.9-pound V100 features ultra-quiet fanless design and includes a wide range of standard features, including a 10.4 inch screen, power-saving 1.2 GHz Intel® Core™ Duo Platform Technology, 512 MB expandable to 2 GB of DRAM, 120 GB shock-mounted removable hard drive, Integrated Bluetooth, reversible waterproof camera, and a full menu of wireless networking capabilities — all housed in a water resistant rugged magnesium alloy case and ready for mounting in any emergency vehicle. "The GETAC V100 exceeds every performance and reliability standard that fire-rescue personnel demand from a Fully Rugged computer while offering a number of optional features not available elsewhere," said Mike Simek, Manager, GETAC Sales and Marketing. "The ability to instantly convert the V100 from a laptop to a tablet PC gives workers the flexibility they need, while our security features offer them the confidence that their data is safe from the elements and the rigors of their job inside the V100?s water-proof, shock-proof and drop-proof magnesium alloy case."

The V100 offers a variety of advanced options, including a 12-inch LCD screen featuring a daylight readable screen and choice of digitizer or touch screen interface, as well as optional Integrated GPS, 3G and 802.11a/b/g functionality that keeps users connected whether they are in the office, in a vehicle or outdoors.

In addition to the V100, GETAC will display the M230 Fully Rugged notebook, which combines high performance and an extensive litany of state-of-the-art built-ins and options in a Rugged, ultra-portable slim design that also meets MIL-STD 810F and IP54 standards. GETAC had mobile workers in mind when it designed the M230 with a 14-inch XGA or optional 15-inch SXGA TFT LCD high resolution display — the largest screen available in a rugged laptop format. Users will likewise benefit from GETAC's optional ATI M54 chip, which provides all the additional power needed for graphical applications.

The M230 also provides more storage (up to 120GB) than competitive models and the ability to accommodate a wide range of plug-ins. Inside, it offers an Intel® Centrino Mobile Technology and Core™ Duo L2400 1.66 GHz processor, 2MB L2 cache, and 512MG DDR2 (expandable to 4GB). Outside, options include a sunlight readable display, touch screen, waterproof membrane keyboard, TPM 1.2 and Kensington lock security features, smart card reader and other upgrades. The M230 accommodates a variety of wireless options and an optional GPS receiver. The entire unit is enclosed in an attractive magnesium alloy case.

The recently launched GETAC P470 is designed specifically for users seeking a lightweight, high-performance notebook that offers maximum security, connectivity and basic protection against the daily rigors of mobile computing. The P470 features a 14.1-inch Wide Screen XGA LCD display with optional sunlight readable or touch-screen display and includes a shock-mounted 120GB removable hard drive and sealed ports and connectors within a magnesium alloy case that is vibration and drop-shock resistant. Inside it features an Intel® Centrino® Core™ 2 Duo T7400 2.16Ghz processor with 4MB L2 cache and 1GB DDR2 (expandable to 4GB) for fast, reliable performance. Standard security features include the TPM 1.2 Trust Platform Module, Kensington lock, fingerprint scanner access control and Smart Card reader for worry-free secure transactions. Also available are a full range of wireless options, including WWAN, WLAN and Bluetooth.

GETAC also will demonstrate the ultra-slim W130 Rugged Notebook, known for its lightweight durability as well as its high performance features and low power consumption. The W130 features Intel® Centrino Mobile Technology with WWAN, a Dothan 1.6GHz processor and optional touch screen and daylight readable display. Like the others, the W130 is compliant with MIL-STD 810F and IP51 standards for Rugged durability.
