General Electric, A Viryanet Global Partner, Announces Prestigious Ecomagination Status For Its Field Force Automation Product

ViryaNet Limited, a leading provider of software solutions that optimize the full cycle of scheduling and dispatch processes for field service management announced recently that General Electric's Field Force Automation (FFA) product, based upon ViryaNet's G4 Workforce Management Platform, has achieved "ecomagination status".

According to GE, "To earn ecomagination approval, a product is evaluated for its ability to significantly and measurably improve a customer's environmental and operating performance. The rigorous, multi-tiered review process is concluded with an independent, third-party audit to ensure accuracy and thorough documentation of technological performance."

GE reported that, "Utilities using FFA report their crews fix problems faster, perform maintenance that prevents problems before they happen and are more efficient on the job thanks to more accurate, immediate status information and direction. At the same time, FFA achieves these performance improvements while reducing the travel, personnel requirements and time spent in the field."

GE also reported that "FFA earned its ecomagination status by delivering performance improvements in three areas."

  • Significant Reduction of service crew times
    • A utility with 27 crews reduced traveling time by 69% which would project to reduce CO2 emissions for 1000 field crews by 2700 metric tons annually.
  • Automatic balancing of multiple objectives (e.g. crew times, work load balance and preference for high priority work orders)
    • A utility with 120 crews was able to further reduce traveling times by 17% versus previous mobile workforce management solutions
  • Saving paper waste by utilizing electronic communications
    • A utility with 200 crews reduced paper consumption by 70%.

GE stated that, "In addition to these ecomagination benefits, FFA users typically experience several other business improvements, such as better data quality from the digitization of processes, increased revenues from capturing previously non-invoiced work and better-informed decisions due to keener insight into their operations."

"General Electric is a highly valued global business and product partner," said Jeff Oskin, President of ViryaNet. "We are especially gratified by GE's reports of the compelling benefits their customers have achieved from utilizing their FFA product."
